Draft — not yet in force

Privacy notice

Draft describing the current implementation. Not reviewed by a lawyer. Data controller, contact address, jurisdiction and retention periods are [to be provided by the owner]. DBPass does not claim compliance with any specific privacy law yet.

What we store

  • Account: email, sign-in method (email or Google), display name.
  • Passport: details you choose to add (handle, nationality, location, bio, roles) and a visibility setting. New passports default to public; you can switch to members-only or private at any time.
  • Historical records: names, roles and results of people taken from public sources, including people who have never joined DBPass.
  • Requests: correction/contact requests and the email you give us, visible only to moderators.
  • Revision history: a log of changes to registry and moderation records.

Who can see it

Public: event, competition, crew and result records and organization listings. Members-only or private passports are not shown to the public. Request emails, claim evidence notes and reviewer notes are never public.

Deleting your account

Self-service deletion is not available yet; until it is, request deletion through the request form. The following describes what deletion will do.

Your sign-in, profile and private settings are deleted. Approved claims are unlinked, so your account no longer connects to historical records. Crew results remain because they belong to the event. If you want your name removed from historical participation as well, say so in a removal request: we then detach the name so you are not identifiable from the result. Entries in the revision history about you are retained for [period to be set by the owner] for accountability, then removed.

Minors and nonmembers

Parents or guardians, and people who never joined, can request correction or removal without an account. Requests concerning minors are prioritized.

Service providers

DBPass uses hosted database, authentication and hosting providers to run the service. [List of processors and transfer locations to be confirmed by the owner.]
